Magic Kingdom: Fantasyland

As a celebration of the child within all of us, Fantasyland is considered by most guests to be the most memorable part of the Magic Kingdom. It is a celebration of fairytales of old in general, and of those that have been made into blockbuster feature films in particular. Here is where you will find dark rides themed on such Grimms Fairytale favorites as Snow White, Cinderella, Dumbo, and Peter Pan, as well as "it's a small world" -- a tribute to the "devil doll" sequence in Trilogy of Terror.

Mickey's PhilharMagic
Ever see the classic Disney cartoon "The Band Concert" in deafening THX stereo while wearing plastic glasses? Well now's your chance.

"it's a small world"
Although it shares a name with an attraction at Disneyland, the Magic Kingdom's "it's a small world" is absolutely nothing like its counterpart in Anaheim. For example, the Magic Kingdom attraction features dolls of children from all around the world, including Canada.

Peter Pan's Flight
Although it shares a name with an attraction at Disneyland, the Magic Kingdom's Peter Pan Flight is absolutely nothing like its west-coast counterpart. For example, the Magic Kingdom attraction boasts 7% more glitter and a tiny little mermaid figure with a red wig.

Cinderella's Golden Carrousel
Although on the surface very similar to Disneyland's King Arthur Carrousel, the Magic Kingdom's rotational horse-race simulation device is absolutely nothing like its California counterpart. For example, the Magic Kingdom attraction has an almost entirely different name.

Ariel's Grotto
Although on the surface very similar to the Little Mermaid greeting area in Disneyland's Tomorrowland, the Magic Kingdom's Ariel's Grotto is absolutely nothing like its small-park counterpart. For example, the Magic Kingdom attraction is a "Grotto" instead of whatever the other one is.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Although it shares a name with an attraction at Disneyland, the Magic Kingdom's Dumbo the Flying Elephant is absolutely nothing like its Golden State counterpart. For example, the Magic Kingdom attraction has never spun out of control, lost its hydraulic pressure and structural integrity, and sent kid-laden elephants screaming through the skies of Fantasyland to smash through building and tree up to a mile away, causing millions of dollars of damage and initiating copious lawsuits.

Snow White's Scary Adventures
Although it shares a name with an attraction at Disneyland, the Magic Kingdom's Snow White's Scary Adventures is absolutely nothing like its Pacific coast counterpart. For example, the Magic Kingdom attraction's vehicles are in an entirely different order.

Mad Tea Party
Although it shares a name with an attraction at Disneyland, the Magic Kingdom's Mad Tea Party is absolutely nothing like the Disneyland Resort knockoff. For example, the Magic Kingdom attraction spins clockwise instead of right to left.

Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
This attraction shares a name with an attraction at Disneyland, and is in fact completely identical in every minute detail to its Disneyland doppelganger. Avoid at all costs.

Pooh's Playful Spot
A playground that simulates a submarine pen filled in with dirt and overrun by Poohbears.
